I have compiled a playlist of songs that go with the genre and feel of my artist. You may see that Ellie Goulding is in the playlist, who is a pop artist. I have chosen to add a couple of her songs into the playlist as her voice sounds indie/ alternative and my genre is indie rock.

Better version of the song

I have found this remix of Alice on YouTube. I feel that using this version for my video would be more appropriate because the guitar riffs put in by the SZTSZ artist make the song feel more like my gender of alternative indie rock. The other version just sounded like a pop song which is completely irrelevant to my genre of indie rock. Using this remix means I can still use the same lyrics and mood amplification.I was beginning to have second thoughts about the song until I found this.

Examples of celebrity style

All of these artists have a tendency to film outdoors. Their outfits are similar to my ideas in the previous post. They use casual style like leggings, jeans, a simple T shirt and pumps or boots. They use their styles to express their individuality in their own way, such as Avril Lavigne and Hayley Williams with their 'rock chick' style, and Ellie Goulding with her good-girl indie image.  

Styling of the Artist- Clothes

For the styling, I have chosen a few ideas off of various clothes stores.These pieces represent a vintage-rock kind of look. The types of clothing are casual day-wear rather than nightwear as the artist will be walking around in a forest so nightwear will not be needed. Dresses and skirts will be used occasionally when the artist is doing floaty moves and it will hopefully move in the wind. Jeans will mainly be used to go with the boots as seen below, and are casual wear and suitable top walk in in a forest. Lace is a material that may be well used as it is a common material in both rock and indie genres, whether it is part of a top or a shoe design. 

Shoes

As the artist will be walking through a forest, sensible footwear will be needed to be worn. This is why i have selected pumps and tramp/biker boots as they are sensible to walk in a forest, and will enable the artist to run properly in the running shots. in the inside shots the artist will be wearing flat ballet style pumps as they are comfortable to walk around the room in. High Heels are not suitable for walking in a forest as they will become ruined, so I am not going to use them.

Walking the Streets at night. Lonely feel to the song, as the night is cold and she is walking through a city street. 

Performing the song in an outdoor field with a few trees. Recreation of a room outdoors. 

Performing in a field/desert in front of one tree, in broad daylight. 

Using outdoor forestry and the sky at night to create a dull effect. Disjuncture from the video, but amplification of a tough time in their lives.

Band Logo mood board

Here is an experimentation of ideas for the band logo. I feel that it is necessary as it may fit with the genre I am doing.
Font 1: This font is simple, but i don't feel like it hits my genre of indie rock. This is because the font in my opinion is too bubblegum pop. I feel this way because the font is too disorganized to be a serious indie rock logo. It just is not right for the artist.
Font 2: I like this font. It follows the convention of an indie rock artist to have a simple logo. it is not too overpowering, and i can change it easily to have colour variations.
Font 3: I like this font as it represents the guitar strings used for the riffs of the artist's music. It may be a little overbearing for some people, and it is difficult to read the text.
Font 4: This font is too simple and doesn't fit with the artists image. it looks too 'Pop'.
Font 5: This font is good as it is simple yet unique, which the artist is trying to be.
Font 6: This font looks good because it is simple and easy to read. However, it is too small, and looks like it has been seen somewhere before. My artist wants to be unique.
Image:  The eye looks nice and enticing, but the font with it looks tacky against the eye. If i was to use a logo like this, I would use the artists eye and edit it myself, so it looks credible to the artist. I would use the image as a background image for the CD cover or magazine advert.
I feel that I am going to use font 2 or 3 as my band logo at the moment.

I  have set up a twitter account for my artist in order to promote songs further, and also allows fans to interact with her.

UK Tribes Target Audience- Market Research

I would say that her 'Tribe' that she appeals to is the young alts. They are open and willing to discover new artists. Charlz is a new artist so young alts would like to check out her music, seen as how she is an indie-rock artist. She is up and coming, but the genre is different from pop music. she does not want to be considered as mainstream. She keeps changing her music as well, as their tastes change a lot depending on what the artist is. They could be listening to Rock one moment, Indie the next. They are not set on one genre, they are versatile. The same goes with their style. They change that regularly, the style being converse and jeans, with random individual tops. they dress for comfort but still like to look good. They like wearing bright clothes, but grungy too. Young alts seem to want to get hold of lots of different media, like art. She is individual too. They like brands such as NME, tumblr and Netflix. This tribe appeals to both men and women.

The second genre she appeals to is the creatives. Young Alts tend to be creative too, experimenting with art. They tend to be arty and creative, taking an interest in drawing and photography. My artist  is interested in drawing and has a talent for it. Therefore people will take creative inspiration from the artist. they see art as a way of life, collecting inspiration from everywhere.


 
The link between the two tribes is that of the artist. My artist as well as being a Young Alt with her wardrobe, is a keen artist and enjoys drawing. Another link is that hey may use each other as an inspiration, for Young Alts, they can use the creatives artwork to design new clothes, whereas the creatives can use the Young Alts for their photography projects or to draw.

Artist's Biography

Charlz
Newcomer Charlz is 17 and has just finished her A levels. She Became an overnight sensation in the indie rock world when her friend leaked her virtually unknown songs and videos online. when she wasn't studying for her A levels, She would probably have been found to be singing in her bedroom or performing in front of small crowds in local bars and clubs. After achieving straight A's in her Music, Media Studies and Art A levels, she now has a full time career making music for her growing number of fans.
Charlz believes in writing music to help her fans. She mixes her two favourite genres, Indie and Rock, to create a unique and individual style she likes in a style. She also feels that it is important to use relatable lyrics in her songs to help her fans get over certain situations. Her performances have secured her a place as a support act at the Reading Festival 2014. She feels that the music industry shouldn't be about looks, it should be about natural talent. Her experience has given her a wide range of fans near her area where she lives.

Possible genre for my music video, Song and Artist names

Genre
I feel that the genre that would best suit me is a gentle rock genre. I feel as I can get the meanings out of the song, i can form connotations or amplifications that I can use in the music video. This means that I can make an efficient music video for the song i eventually choose. At the moment, I feel that the song Alice by Avril Lavigne can be more realistically done, as i could use the footpath of woods where i live to film the video.

The final band name is going to be Charlz. This is because my artist for the video is called Charlotte, so I wanted a variation of her name. Charlz is short, straight to the point so listeners will remember it.
